Chevy Draws Chalk Ads Downtown in Support of Volt Campaign

Automaker General Motors announced a 230 MPG rating for its upcoming extended-range electric Chevy Volt this morning, but Downtowners may have seem the news today in a much less straight-forward fashion via chalk sidewalk ads promoting the 230 number.

The ads appear just over a month after Audi steam-cleaned stencils ads into Downtown sidewalks to promote its clean diesel engines.

Los Angeles last week passed an ordinance banning several kinds of signage in an attempt to prevent the proliferation of new ads, but neither steam stencils nor sidewalk chalk seem to have yet made the list.
