Cy Coleman
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Cy Coleman passed away in 2004, but the music of the renowned songwriter is very much alive. Last week saw the release of tribute album "The Best Is Yet To Come," and this Wednesday, September 23, Jill Sobule, Sara Watkins, Perla Batalla and Julianna Raye will join producer and musical arranger Dave Palmer at the GRAMMY Museum to talk about the album and perform Coleman's classic songs.
Interested? Tickets are on-sale now, and we've got some free ones for blogdowntown readers.
Music critic Chris Morris will moderate the discussion, and other artists from the album are rumored for a possible appearance. The show is part of the Museum's music series "The Drop," which highlights new releases.
Want to see the show? We've got six pairs of tickets to give away. Just leave us a comment letting us know why you should win, and be sure to include contact info via email or Facebook. Contest will close Tuesday night at 8pm.

I'd like tickets to the Cy Coleman event because I'm familiar with Mr. Coleman's catalogue, and i live close to the GRAMMY Museum. If i win tickets I'm going to bring along a fellow music lover that is not familiar with this particular writer, so she can be exposed to his legacy. Yeah!
