DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — As founder and lead singer of The Who, Roger Daltry has played more than his share of giant arenas. For his latest solo tour, dubbed the "Use It or Lose It Tour," Daltry has chosen to instead focus on smaller, more intimate venues. On Saturday, October 17, the show comes Downtown to the historic Orpheum Theatre and we've got a couple pairs of tickets to give to blogdowntown readers courtesy of Goldenvoice.
The tour is Daltry's first as a national solo headliner since 1985, but he has led an active life outside of his Who success, releasing eight solo albums and appearing in a number of films.
Opening for the tour is Los Angeles-based Paper Zoo.
Want to see the show? We've got two pairs to give away. Just leave a comment letting us know why you should win. Make sure to include contact info via either email or Facebook. Contest closes Thursday at noon.

I would love to see Roger Daltry for my first show ever at the Orpheum. I would appreciate the opportunity to expose my girlfriend to great music. Her current definition of great music is made up of only country music =(. With this show I could give her proof that Garth Brooks is not the greatest performer ever. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! I BEG YOU, and so does our little cocker spaniel that has to listen to country music as she gets ready for work in the morning.

I've been waiting for just the right show to experience the renovated Orpheum theatre, a true downtown treasure, and this show definitely qualifies! Being a relatively new small business owner in Los Angeles equates to far less disposable income these days (though it's all worth it), so scoring a pair of complimentary tickets to this show would definitely make my month. My husband and I are both long time Roger Daltrey and Who fans, plus we have a true appreciation for historic and architecturally significant buildings. I'd definitely make time for a drink at the Broadway Bar next door before the show too. Ooh - what a spectacular evening this would be!

I did see Roger Daltrey perform once before, with the Who at the Woodstock Festival in 1969, but I was deep in the crowd and didn't really hear the show that well. I was in the Orpheum Theater once before, but it was on the tour in 2009 by the LA Historic Theater Foundation, not at a performance. Now it is time to have proper Daltrey and Orpheum experiences.

I've been a huge fan of The Who since I was a kid. I remember the other kids thinking I was crazy because I was so excited about one of their "farewell" tours in the mid-eighties. I finally got to see them around 3 years ago in Long Beach- I gave both my brothers tickets for Christmas. We went, along with my girlfriend of that time, who was pregnant. We all loved it. I remember Roger hitting that scream in "Won't Get Fooled Again" and getting chills. I wanted to thank him for still giving it that much after all this time. I felt honored. It was around that time that my ex told me the baby was going crazy. She wasn't very active in the womb, but loved the music. She's almost 2-1/2 now, and still loves The Who. I'd love to be at this show, to feel those feelings again.
