Filipino designer Oliver Tolentino shows his Spring 2010 collection on the runway at Downtown Los Angeles Fashion Week.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Downtown Los Angeles Fashion Week wrapped up with a celebration of vintage Valentino, but just a few hours early it was the evening wear and gowns of Filipino designer Oliver Tolentino garnering their own attention on the runway.

Tolentino, who started out in Manila and now has a boutique on Melrose, ran through a spectrum of designs, growing progressively more formal before ending with a pair of bridal gowns.

Opening the night was The Battalion, an eco-conscious label based just west of Downtown.
