Today is Monday, October 19, and it's a slow week for Downtown items. The City's proposed contract with Google for email hosting is a big ticket item, and Saturday's grand opening for the Police Administration Building will bring street closures.

MONDAY: Public Safety and Budget and Finance committees are scheduled to meet.

At Budget and Finance is CF 09-1714, a proposal to replace the City's aging email infrastructure with a Google Apps setup. Google has responded to earlier security fears by creating a specially-secured government cloud.

TUESDAY: Council is in session, as are four committees.

At Council, CF 09-2525 is a special event notice approving street closures for the new Police Administration Building's grand opening on Saturday, October 24. 1st, 2nd, Main and Spring would all have full closures.

Information Technology and Government Affairs will hear a verbal report on the status of the Police Administration Building.

WEDNESDAY: Council meets, as do three committees.

At Council, CF 09-2568 is a Perry / Huizar motion to declare Wednesday, October 21, Wastewater Collection Day.

While it's not on an agenda yet, don't be surprised to see Council pull in CF 09-2559, Councilwoman Perry's motion regarding signage at L.A. Live.
