Young Downtowners enjoy bubbles and a bouncy house at Downtown Center BID's Second Annual Community Halloween Party for Downtown L.A. Kids.

Costumed Downtown kids and their parents brought some Halloween flair and scare to South Park on Saturday for the Second Annual "Halloween Party for Downtown L.A. Kids," sponsored by the Downtown Center BID, Ralphs and FIDM.

Once again, turnout showed that Downtown does indeed have a younger set. DCBID VP Hal Bastian estimates that 500 children and 600 adults turned out over the course of the night.

The night even got a bit of old-fashion Halloween ritual, with two mysterious doors erected so that the kids could knock on them and say "Trick or Treat."

Snacks and treats for the Grand Hope Park event were provided by Ralphs.

The party was great. My 6 yr. old LOVED the craft tables, and they had a different craft at each of the 6-8 tables. There were free hot dogs/beverages from Ralph's, popcorn/cotton candy, dancing. It was refreshing to go to an event like this and not have 15-20 commercial vendors there. We will definitely go next year as well!

We had a great time, thanks to everyone who put it all together. The Only Thing...if it could have started a little earlier? By 6 it was getting dark.

This event was so much fun; it was well planned and advertised. It was so exciting seeing so many families downtown- I just couldn't stop smiling. The girls had a blast dancing to the bubble machine and we enjoyed socializing with other parents. Thank you Ralphs for the treats and the downtown central business district for organizing this. I hope it becomes an annual tradition.

This is a great event. There was also a Halloween party at Gladys for kids in that neighborhood.
