Mohawk Matt stands in front of the Rowan Lofts in September. His Bolt Barbers opens today.

Spring street's Bolt Barbers makes its debut this afternoon, offering men haircuts and shaves in a social setting. Kicking things off, the shop is running a fundraiser called "Hawks for Homeless," raising money for the Midnight Mission.

Located in the ground floor of the Rowan building, the goal for Bolt is to offer guys "awesome technical haircuts at a price where they can afford to do it often," owner "Mohawk" Matt Berman told blogdowntown in September.

Sheers and shaves are $22, with discounts for law enforcement and firefighters.

Bolt Barbers / 460 S. Spring / 310-594-3150 / Monday - Wednesday, until 7pm; Thursday - Saturday, until midnight

Twenty-two bucks isn't bad at all for a haircut and a shave. I'm into it.

1) Mohawk Matt is one of the coolest people downtown. 2) Hallelujah for an alternative to the snooty "you're not cool enough" vibe you get at Rudy's.

I just walked by Bolt Barbers this morning and the space is completely transformed! It looks really great and they have a shuffleboard table in there!

Justin: That's $22 each. Sorry if that wasn't clear in the write-up.
