Cars are lined up on 4th street for filming in August, 2007.

Navigating Downtown could prove a touch difficult this weekend, with closures related to a single production proposed to take out six different streets over a two day period. The closures, requested by Ruckus Film for a Hyundai commercial, go to the Board of Public Works for approval on Friday and the first of them would take effect only 21 hours later.

In the Arts District, Anderson street would be closed from Jesse Street to 7th on Saturday, January 9, from 5:30am to 6:30pm The following day, the 4th Street bridge would be closed from Santa Fe Ave to Mission Road during the same hours.

In the Financial District, closures on Saturday would affect the 3rd Street tunnel from 9am to 10pm and Flower street from 3rd to 5th from 7am to 6pm. On Sunday, January 10, closures would take out Grand Avenue between 3rd and 5th from 8am to 6:30pm and 4th street between the 110 freeway and Olive street from 5:30am to 4pm.

Film LA has an email notification service that everyone can sign up for. You can select an area or areas to get notifications for, and they come in by email a few days before the shoot. There us always contact info in case there are any issues that the production needs to know about, so you don't get caught by surprise if you are moving that day or expecting people who might have access disturbed. If there is a conflict you should call the location manager and express your concerns.

Go to http://www.filmla.com and then click on "For Communities" and then "eNotifications" where you can enter your email address. Once you do that you will see a section to select your area.
