According to the 2008 Downtown Center Business Improvement District demography study, Downtown residents are 50% more likely to have a dog than a cat.

Those canines might be walking just a little bit gingerly by this massive work, recently installed in the Historic Core.

According to a sign posted nearby, the work was done by Henigman Art.

Where is the mural exactly? Is that the SB Tower?

While this mural is certainly well done in terms of technique, what is barry shy trying to say? "Come move into my new SB property, we have lions"? Maybe he can attract sigfried and roy to spring street.

The long and short is, I'm not into it.

Yes, this is in the SB Tower -- isn't it fabulous!

Interesting amount of prominently featured SB properties.

Strange disproportional amount of male lions to only one female. Usually lions work the other way, one male to multiple females.

Take a look at the artist's website. He likes men. Nothing wring with that either. So do I.

My wife and I park in the basement of that building, and we spoke with the muralists a week or so ago. The muralists said the background is a vista from the top floor of the building, while the foreground shows the eight Downtown buildings Shy owns. They said Shy is a Leo and wanted eight lions to represent himself and his eight buildings.

My guess is that Barry Shy is a Leo.

As always, with a Barry Shy project, it is incredibly tasteful....if you are fond of post-Apocalyptic urbanity...while pondering undeserved megalomania.

Maybe Kim Cooper and Barry should hook up....and make beautiful projects together.

Barry Shy would make some interesting graphic designs with Donald T. Sterling!

Wha? Capturing the images of goats eating grass on Hill Street didn't do it for ya? Or are goats what the lions are looking at?
