Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of City Hall Staffer

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Flags at City of Los Angeles facilities are at half-staff today in honor of Charmette Bonpua, who passed away unexpectedly over the weekend. Bonpua, 44, was chief of staff to Councilman Herb Wesson.

Wesson delivered an emotional remembrance of his chief deputy during Wednesday morning's council meeting.

Bonpua died after suffering an aneurysm during a family trip to Las Vegas. Wesson's office said this afternoon that arrangements for a service are still being made.
