Wolfgang Puck Opening WP24 at the Ritz
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — One of Downtown's worst-kept secrets became official today, as Wolfgang Puck announced that he will be opening WP24 on the 24th floor of the Ritz-Carlton at L.A. Live. The restaurant will feature "feature refined Asian fare," and will open in April. The hotel opens March 15.
Update (April 16): WP24 is now open. Read our story on the restaurant and lounge.
Puck collaborated on the menu with Chef Lee Hefter, Managing Partner and Executive Corporate Chef of the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group. David McIntyre will take the role of Executive Chef. The space is being designed by ICRAVE, a local firm responsible for Geisha House in Los Angeles, Sushi Samba Strip in Las Vegas and Abe Arthurs in New York.
The space will feature a restaurant, lounge, wine cave and two private dining rooms.
The 123-room Ritz-Carlton sits atop the 878-room JW Marriott, and below the 224-unit Residences at the Ritz-Carlton in the 54-story tower at L.A. Live. LA Market, the only other restaurant in the structure, opened in February and features a menu by chef Kerry Simon.
WP24 continues Wolfgang Puck's already heavy involvement in the L.A. Live complex. Wolkgang Puck Bar & Grill sits steps away from the hotel tower, and Wolfgang Puck Catering provides food service at events throughout the complex.

Sorry, but I am disappointed by this. Why does downtown LA need another Wolfgang Puck restaurant? When I heard a world-renown chef was coming to the Ritz I was hoping for Bobby Flay or Rick Bayless. So now the people who stay at the hotel can choose to dine at Wolfgang Puck in at Ritz, LA Live or Library Court? Talk about overkill.
