Wednesday: On His Final Day, Deputy Chief will be on the Run
Ed Fuentes
Deputy Chief Sergio Diaz.
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Clearly Deputy Chief Sergio Diaz will not be content just sitting behind his desk on his final day of public service. At least not in the morning.
On March 31st, after 33 years with LAPD, the retiring Diaz will lead an informal run through Central City East, the Arts District and across L.A.'s bridges.
While this Skid Row Run may not take the place of neighborhood watch walk, Diaz still invites anyone from the Downtown community who has the morning free to join him and LAPD.
Runners will meet in front of Central Division at 9am (251 E. 6th St.) and will run/jog east on 6th. After passing over the 6th Street bridge, they will turn left on Boyle and return to Downtown via the 4th Street bridge, 4th St, then via Towne return to Central Division.
