Dublin's Taking Over for Ciao, Bringing Casey's Some Irish Pub Competition

Buildout is underway for Dublin's Irish Pub, set to take over the space that formerly housed Ciao Trattoria in the Fine Arts Building on 7th street. The venue will provide some Irish competition to Casey's Bar & Grill, which for years has been Downtown's only true St. Patty's destination.

The venue appears to be a relocation of a venue by the same name in West Hollywood. A liquor license transfer from Ciao is underway.

Ciao closed on March 11 of this year.

Next door, in space that formerly held a McDonald's, plans appear to be still underway to bring Hollywood's Pig'n Whistle back to one of its historic spaces.

Any idea if the Tesoro space in California Plaza (also owned by Ciao owners) is changing as well?

Sounds like it's going to be a cool place. The space is absolutely gorgeous. I was sad to hear that Ciao closed, but I guess I can't be suprised as the place was almost always empty whenever I went there.

Oh, and to the previous guest who was wondering about Tesoro at the California Plaza, it closed a while back. It is now a Mexican restaurant called Casa. Really good food.

Sara, the Tesoro space at California Plaza is still vacant, Casa is located on the south side Cal Plaza at 350 South Grand.

Dublin's Irish Pub-This was the name of a place on the Sunset Strip that closed 3-4 years ago, across from Miyagi's. Dublin's Irish Pub replaced the old Carlos n Charlies.

Wait...a new bar that isn't run by 213 & Cedd Moses?!?! My sarcasm is light-hearted; I like their bars but it's good to have some "competition". I love pubs!

I hope it is not the same owners as the old sunset strip Dublins. those guys were shady and screwed employees over all the time! (i know, i worked there)
