I would love to win a pair of tickets for Monday!! I have been a fan since Seperation Sunday came out, and haven't seen them in years. Pick me!

Why? Two reasons:
I'm a "clever kid" who loves the Hold Steady. I contribute often to various online communities dedicated to analyzing the band's lyrics. I could write a thesis on how each of their albums is telling the same story through another prism, or about how Separation Sunday, while giving the most hints about the overarching story they're telling, is misleading because it comes from an unreliable narrator.
I'm a first-year law student in the middle of the hazing tradition known as finals. I can't go to the show at the El Rey because I have an exam the next morning. However, my most difficult exam is on Monday afternoon and I could really use the opportunity to blow off some steam.

I became a fan of The Hold Steady sometime during my junior year in undergrad, and I was quite simply just hooked. Think of it at love at first listen. On top of that, finals for the end of my first year of law school start on Wednesday for me and I would love to be able to do something fun to break up all the monotonous studying (PLUS, I'm sure all my classmates would love to have me not be studying in the hopes that it'll bring down my grades and help them in the curve).

I discovered The Hold Steady rather recently, but I've been obsessed since the first song I heard. I've listened to their albums over and over as a lover of words and lyrics. I would love to take a break from the hell of the last few weeks of college and wrap up the year on a high note.
I can also sing you every word of "How a Resurrection Really Feels" by heart. I also can't promise that I sing on key.

my wife and i are expecting our first baby in just three short weeks, so this could be our last chance to get out and do something sweet for the next eighteen years.
also, i once wrote a poem about onion bagels that was heavily inspired by the hold steady. check it out if you want – http://poemsaboutonionbagels.com/?p=36.
