Today is Monday, May 3, and budget talks continue all week. Also on the docket is a lease agreement for the Little Tokyo recreation center and approval of AEG's plan to build an entertainment studio across the street from L.A. Live.

MONDAY: Budget and Finance meets at 9am in a continuation of the marathon sessions that started last week to discuss the Mayor's proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The committee is scheduled to meet at 1pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and at 9am on Thursday.

TUESDAY: Council is in session, as are two committees.

At Council, CF 10-0450 is instructions that the city prepare a ground lease for the Little Tokyo recreation center known as Budokan of Los Angeles.

Item 14 is CF 10-0708-S1, a motion asking that Austin Beutner, Deputy Mayor and Acting General Manager for the Department of Water and Power, report to the Council on his plans for the department.

WEDNESDAY: Council and one committee meet.

At Housing, Community and Economic Development is CF 10-0644, the CRA's $5 million acquisition loan for SRO Housing Corp. to purchase the Rosslyn Hotel.

At Council, item 4 is CF 08-3193-S1, a $3 million contract for Troller Mayer Associates and Melendrez to do a three year streetscape project for the Figueroa Corridor between 7th and 41st streets. Also included is 11th street between Figueroa and Broadway.

Item 6 is CF 10-0211, a change to the L.A. Sports and Entertainment District plan to allow the broadcast studio and office uses on the Olympic North parcel. The change makes the seventh implementation agreement for the LASED plan.

Turns out, though, that the city never got around to signing off on version six. Item 27, CF 10-0709 is a motion authorizing the City to sign the sixth agreement, which Council approved on November 30, 2007.
