Brian Alexik is led to a waiting LAPD vehicle after surrendering to police and ending a lengthy standoff inside the American Hotel.

On the run for six weeks before his June 3 capture, life in the legal system hasn't been quite as exotic for the man that LAPD at one point compared to movie figure Jason Bourne.

Brian Alexik was initially arrested and charged with three felonies: possession of assault weapons, possession of a short barrel shotgun, and of being a convicted felon with a gun. Today prosecutors added seven more counts, charging the 34-year-old with forgery and possession for sale of methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, cocaine base, concentrated cannabis and marijuana.

As he did for the first three, Alexik pleaded not guilty.

On April 19, officers responding to diesel fumes coming from Alexik's unit in the Reserve Lofts found loaded weapons, counterfeit money and drugs. The 33-year-old eluded capture by escaping out the building's fire escape. Multiple passports were found in the unit, all with different names.

While it was initially thought that Alexik could have fled the country, he was captured on June 3 at his girlfriend's apartment in the Arts District's American Hotel. He remains jailed in lieu of posting $1 million bail.
