DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Today is Monday, June 21, and after an off-day the council returns to tackle library funding, recycling, streetcar funds and environmental documents for the Nikkei Center project.
MONDAY: No meetings today. Public Safety and Budget & Finance are both taking the day off.
TUESDAY: Council meets, as do six committees.
At Arts, Parks, Health & Aging is CF 10-1057, a report from the Board of Library Commissioners asking to put a parcel tax on the November ballot that would fund library services cut in the current budget crisis.
At the Ad Hoc RENEW LA committee, both 08-0603 and 06-0811 deal with new rules to require that buildings include both a trash chute and a recycling chute.
At Planning and Land Use Management committee is CF 10-0875, a motion certifying the Final Environmental Impact Report for the 1.2 million square foot Nikkei Center project at 1st and Alameda.
WEDNESDAY: Council is in session, along with three committees.
At Housing, Community and Economic Development committee, CF 10-0781 authorizes the CRA to execute an agreement with DWP to share the costs of the ULI Cleantech study that took place back in May.
At Transportation committee, CF 10-0854 is a motion to allow the L.A. Streetcar project to apply for federal TIGER II funds.
