This Walgreens pharmacy opened in late May, directly across the street from an existing Rite Aid.

Three weeks after Walgreens opened a new store across the street from the Rite Aid at 7th and Hope, the competition is paying dividends for Downtowners.

Rite Aid last week added Sunday pharmacy hours to its store, matching those of its across-the-street competitor. Both stores now offer exactly the same hours for both the stores and their pharmacies.

The stores are open Monday through Friday from 7am to 10pm, Saturday from 8am to 10pm and Sunday from 8am to 9pm. The pharmacies are open Monday through Friday from 8am to 9pm, Saturday from 9am to 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 6pm. Walgreens' pharmacy takes a half-hour lunch break on Saturday and Sunday at 1:30pm.
