A painter works to change the content of a wall sign at 714 W. Olympic.

With the at-least-temporary disappearance of signage at the Hotel Figueroa, this wall sign on the side of the Petroleum building at 714 W. Olympic is one of the most visible Downtown.

It wasn't particularly one of the clearest in message on Monday, though, as a painter from Walldogs worked to change the graphic from one Hyundai ad to another.

According to specs posted on the mural media website, the sign is 136 feet tall and 84 feet wide. Until a few years ago, it was a permanent sign for 76 gasoline, and the round shape of the 76 ball can still be seen on the wall face.
