Goats to Revisit Angels Knoll on Tuesday

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — One of Downtown's more curious sites will return next Tuesday, as a team of weed-eating goats are let loose on the steep hillside at Angels Knoll. It will be the second time the four-legged weedwhackers have been brought back to the site since the concept was first introduced in September of 2008.
The Community Redevelopment Agency owns the site, which climbs from 4th and Hill up to Olive street. The agency had previously hired landscaping firms to handle weed control on the steep middle section of the parcel. The goats were touted as a green, cost-saving alternative to the gas-powered machinery.
The goats, owned by Environmental Land Management in San Diego, should be released onto the site soon after 9am on Tuesday, July 6. They will be present for the rest of the week.

Wouldn't this be the third time?

Guest: Correct. Third time overall, or second time since the first one.

Any news on when they're coming this year? I asked the operator of Angels Flight today (so glad it's running again, on its shiny new wheels!) and he said, "real soon, but I don't know exactly."
