DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — On a pair of courses tucked atop L.A. Live's west garage, Venezuela's Daniel Dhers took home the gold in Saturday's BMX Park competition, while Ryan Sheckler narrowly beat out 15-year-old Nyjah Huston to claim his gold medal in Skateboard Street.
The garage roof, known as the "Event Deck," brought outdoor events back Downtown for the first time since construction began on the entertainment complex. The first three X Games to be held in Los Angeles had been centered on the parking lots just north of Staples Center, but they were bumped to the Home Depot Center by the project's start in 2007.
This year, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum hosted skateboard and BMX big air, Super X, Moto X Freestyle, and rally car racing. Vert events took place inside Nokia Theatre on Friday, and Staples Center hosts Moto X Speed & Style this evening.
X Games 16 runs through 8pm tonight. A free "X Fest" is open to the public on Nokia Plaza and Chick Hearn Court.

X-games 2010 awesome! AEG did a good job. BUT no water for sale or not providing water fountains is extremely dangers for kids and heat. I had to wait in line at a restaurant, wait to be seated then wait for a server to get our drink order just to get a cup of water. STUPID. My 8 year old nephew almost passed out. The security laughed at me when I asked if they had water fountains. On the other hand tons of non liquids on had for free. You'd think they would have a requirement to provide water.
