In a two-day week, Council tackles police permits, LAX concessions and asks why pre-ICO marijuana dispensaries are being shut down. The body then gets a five-day weekend to attend a conference in San Diego.

MONDAY: Three committees meet.

At Public Safety, CF 10-2311 is a report from the Police Commission asking for permission to delegate sign-off on Police Permits. Permits currently must be approved by the Police Permit Review Panel.

The day's most lively discussion will likely come at the Board of Referred Powers, which will debate concession contracts for LAX.

TUESDAY: Council meets, as do four committees.

At Council, CF 08-1678-S2 is an $8 million float loan for the Hope Street Family Center, planned for 16th and Venice.

Item 9 is CF 10-1273, a CRA request to spend $822,000 rebuilding sidewalks and replanting trees around the Bunker Hill area.

Item 60 is CF 10-2365, a motion asking for explanation on the recent closure notices given to medical marijuana dispensaries that had registered with the city.

At Planning and Land Use Management, CF 09-3070 is a report implementing changes to the LASED specific plan first proposed one year ago. They would allow AEG to build a larger structure on the Olympic North parcel and include broadcast studio space.

WEDNESDAY: After six business days returned from its summer recess, Council is off again. This time it's a three day recess to allow members to attend the League of California Cities Annual Conference, held this year in San Diego.
