Weekend Calendar Full of Ghosts, Gamers, and Superheroes

The XyloVan will be on display at Saturday's Burning Man Decompression event at the State Historical Park.

Comic-Con may not be coming to Los Angeles any time soon, but if this weekend is any indication, we don't need it. On Saturday morning, over 1500 costumed superheroes are expected to descend on LA Live in a promotion for Will Ferrel's upcoming animated film, "MegaMind," and this is just one small part of a weekend that will see professional video game junkies, ghost hunters, Burning Man devotees, and more all over Downtown.

Friday Night Fright Flicks Tonight's free outdoor screening of "Carrie" is the first in a month-long line up of horror films. _Pershing Square; free!; more info

World Cyber Games (WCG) 2010 Grand Final Los Angeles becomes the center of the online-universe this weekend as 450 gamers from 60 countries converge on Downtown LA for the 10th World Cyber Games to determine the best players of games including Tekken, World of Warcraft, and Counter-Strike.

The SoCal Para-Con Lectures and workshops on the paranormal, tarot readings, ghost hunting equipment demonstrations, and more for anyone not afraid of no ghosts.

LA Burning Man Decompression Local denizens of the weeklong Burning Man festival bring a dust free sampling of event highlights to Downtown for the day, including fire performances, live music, art installations, and even an appearance by the XyloVan.

LA Triathlon Downtown has several spots to watch the cycling and running legs of this race, at Chick Hearn Court, on Olympic Blvd., at Disney Hall, and the LA Live finish line.
