Members of the Cirque Berzerk team talk about their decision to move to Club Nokia during a press event on Monday.

Cirque Berzerk, the erotic and twisted circus of burlesque, fire, and aerobatics, will be ditching its red and white striped tent for the roof of the Club Nokia in January. The one month residency will run from the 7th to the 16th.

The gothic themed show was founded in 1994 by Suzanne Bernal, her husband Kevin Bourque, and Neal Everett. Cirque Berzerk first started gaining notice with performances at the annual Burning Man Festival, and has since performed to sold out shows performed under a big top at the Los Angeles State Historic Park.

Last year, LA Observed wrote, "Cirque Berzerk does everything Cirque du Soleil does, but on a shoestring." Whether or not Berzerk retains its edge in the high tech confines of Club Nokia will be demonstrated in January, 2011.

January 7 - 16 / Club Nokia / tickets: $19.50 - $80 / more info
