The hottest trends for Spring 2011 were showcased this past Friday evening at the Directives West seasonal FIRST.LA forecasting show in the courtyard of the California Market Center during Los Angeles Fashion Week.

Vintage inspired looks a la Oscar de la Renta, Halston and Yves Saint Laurent are all the rage on the international runways from New York to Paris and back here to Los Angeles for Spring 2011. The look is simplistic and effortless. Trends presented by Champagne & Strawberry included silk, floral, lace and ruffles, giving the modern day woman a hint of classic elegance. Cool neutrals of ivory and beige add a powerful backdrop to boastful, bright colors as seen from matty m.

Asymmetrical hemlines and slits add detail to feminine silhouettes from Whitley Kors’ music inspired tees. Sheer long hemlines and wide leg trousers as presented by Yana K add dramatic flair to traditional looks. Print, paisley and floral fabrics give texture to high waist, high cut skirts and shorts as seen from A. Mullier.

Shelda Hartwell-Hale, Merchandise Manager of Directives West said that sheers and textures will dominate Spring 2011 looks and key items include pretty silk tops, open stitch knits, cropped bottoms, rompers, and maxi dresses accessorized with stacked bangle bracelets and long chain necklaces with cluster charms or pendants.
