Laura Finley, 48, was found dead at the bottom of a stairwell at the Millenium Biltmore Hotel on Saturday morning, according to various news reports.

Lt. Paul Vernon, head of LAPD Central Division Detectives, told blogdowntown in an email that the coroner's preliminary report is calling the death accidental, "but final determination will wait for toxicology, which will be several weeks." He adds that detectives are continuing to investigate the case and interviewing Biltmore guests.

Finley was staying at the Olive Street hotel with her husband, Joe Finley, who was there to tape an audition for "Americas Got Talent." TMZ reported that the last he had seen her was at 3am that morning when she left the room, he presumed to get ice. He told TMZ that when he left at 2pm for his audition, police questioned him about her for a couple hours and showed him a photo of her face with injuries. "Finley claims he assumed, at that point, that Laura was dead," reports TMZ, adding that he then continued to his audition.

After the audition, police questioned Finley again and then arrested him when they found three pills of ecstasy on him. He told police that he and Laura had taken ecstasy on the night before her death. He was released on $10,000 bail Sunday morning.
