Want to learn more about Downtown's theatres? The Los Angeles Historic Theatre Foundation will be again offering its walking tour of the historic Broadway Theatre District during the Downtown Art Walk on November 11.

After a short Powerpoint on the district's history, you'll get a narrated tour of the street's history and potential.

Here's LAHTF's description:

The L.A. Historic Theatre Foundation (www.lahtf.org) will conduct free 30-45 minute walking tours of the Broadway Theatre District as part of this month’s Downtown Art Walk, Thursday, November 11, 6:30; 7:00; and 7:30pm. Tours depart from Clifton’s Cafeteria at 7th and Broadway. Tours will be preceded by a brief PowerPoint presentation on the district’s history with emphasis on the creation of a live entertainment district on Broadway. Tours are by reservation only. Reservations may be made through blogdowntown – blogdowntown.com

“Broadway and the 20 historic theatres on and surrounding it can provide the catalyst for game-changing economic growth and an explosion of new entertainment offerings, according to Hillsman Wright, Exec. Dir of the LAHTF. “These theatre district walking tours will illuminate the great potential for the street as well as provide a way for interested folks to become actively involved in making the Broadway entertainment district a reality.”

Space is limited, so sign up by giving your name, email and selecting a tour time below:

LAHTF says that the tours are now full. Look for more tours next month.

I'm kinda excited about this- I have reservations.

I've always wondered what some of these theaters looked like inside. Kinda bummed it's on Art Walk night but an hour diversion to Broadway will be ok. I had several friends that want to do this but timing was not good- I hope they do the tours again.

Gotta love DTLA!!!

No one said anything about twitter. The "@username" just implies a response is directed to a specific user, in this case, you, skidrowdude.

I was just wondering if you had received a confirmation email from LAHTF. I sent in a reservation request last week, but haven't heard anything back from them.

I apPologize "guest" - if I see at @ sign I assume it is a Twitter account you are referencing.

I, nor my friend that I registered, got any confirmation to our e-mails.

But we will show up at 7pm where I think I'm registered. If we are not registered, frankly, it's a BONUS for me as I want to go get appetizers and drinks and have real ART WALK FUN at 7pm- not walking around Broadway.

Again, no disrespect meant... I just get cranky in my old age :)

It's a win-win for me, whatever happens.
