The thirty-three Chilean miners who spent two months trapped underground were the stars of "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute" on Saturday night, a special the news network filmed at the Shrine Auditorium.

The miners and their families spent several event-filled days in Los Angeles before the taping, staying in Downtown at the Omni Hotel.

Before Saturday's show the group spent the day shopping before grabbing a bite to eat at L.A. Live's Rosa Mexicana.

Helicopters and paparazzi followed the miners during their visit as they made their way between various tourist spots including Grauman's Chinese Theatre and Universal Studios Hollywood.

The group departed for Chile on Sunday morning.
