Advertising is all about finding ways to get your message in front of the right audience, so what better way for a bike shop to reach cyclists than by placing stickers on neighborhood bike racks?

That seems to be the logic used by Downtown L.A. Bicycles, located at 17th and Hill — not to be confused with DTLA Bikes on Broadway near 5th. The shop, or someone with a handful of its stickers, placed the ads on a series of bike parking poles along 9th Street in the Fashion District.

Sure, the ad is illegal, but you have to give a few points for being audience-targeted cleverness.
