This July photo of 117 Winston shows tags by 'RUSIA' (middle) and 'ALDOE' (two down).

Residents of the Old Bank District may recognize the names "ALDOE" and "RUSIA" from the large tags that have been on the side of 117 Winston for more than a year. The warehouse building on the corner of 4th and Los Angeles has a fire escape that provided a popular canvas for taggers before it got cleaned up a few months back.

Police yesterday arrested Aldo and Francisco Montoya, the brothers behind those two particular tags, after conducting morning raids in Norwalk, South Gate, and Long Beach. The department isn't a fan of the pair's work.

"Anyone familiar with Downtown Los Angeles will recognize these tags,” said Lt. Paul Vernon, who heads up detectives for LAPD’s Central Police Station. “Make no mistake about it, these guys are not artists; they are prolific vandals who have cost the public and businesses thousands.”

Francisco is 33, while Aldo is 26. Both have prior tagging convictions.
