Traffic is funneled to one lane on Main Street south of 5th because of a GMC commercial being filmed on the next block.

A GMC commercial shooting in the Old Bank District left Main Street businesses grumbling today as traffic cones and detours made it tough to see who was open.

While the street was only closed between 4th and Winston, cones and detour signs stretched back near 6th Street, bottlenecking traffic and making it unclear what parking was available and what was forbidden.

According to filming notices, the Historic Core will get a double-dip of closures on Sunday, with the same GMC shoot returning for a second day and 5th Street closed between Spring and Broadway for a different production.

Broadway is also scheduled to be closed between 8th and 9th from 6 to 10am on Sunday, and 9th Street will be closed between Broadway to Main from 10am to noon.

Filming in Los Angeles was up 15% in 2010, with commercial shoots up 28.1% compared to a year earlier.
