Monserat De Luca featured some whimsical gold jewelry as part of its collection.

SELECT trade show marked the official launch of L.A.'s Fashion Market, where retail buyers get a sneak peak of premier designers' upcoming Summer 2011 collections to stay up to date with the latest trends.

While L.A. Fashion Market occurs five seasons a year at the California Market Center, SELECT is a brand new juried showcase and is presented in conjunction with the Fashion Market.

24 designers filled the Fashion Theater's main lobby, and the main focus seemed to be on accessories, from flashy handbags to gold jewelry. The show primarily featured California-based designers but several New York designers showcased their upcoming lines as well.

Some of the featured designers include:

Monserat De Lucca: This L.A.-based line focuses on bags and designer handbags for "the world traveler" in mind. Part of the collection displayed featured wide array of playful gold pendant jewelry and bracelets.

Ada: These California-inspired designs focus on "high end appeal with a moderate price point." Featuring vibrant leather handbags created by Polish-born designer Ada Komoriczak, the designs offer a variety of textures, colors, and styles fit for a true handbag fanatic.

Joan & David: This New York City designer showcased some urban-inspired heels with a variety of textures and styles for a shoe collector willing to take some chances in the name of fashion.

Azaara: A large collection of "Hot Rocks" rings designed by Persian-Turkish Josef Arzili were on display, whose use of vivid colors was inspired from his world travels.

SELECT Contemporary Trade Show runs through Thursday, January 20th at CMC's Fashion Theater lobby.
