Eight blocks of Figueroa Street will be closed Saturday morning as former L.A. Kings forward and current radio broadcaster Daryl Evans hosts the annual Kings 5K Run.

The 2010 race attracted more than 600 participants.

The course will loop up and down Figueroa between Wilshire and Pico, with cross streets closed for one block in each direction. Closures will start at 5:30am and be gone by 11am.

Registration for the race starts at $39 and includes a ticket to a Kings game on either March 7 or March 17 (tickets to the March 5 game have sold out).

South Park is a popular place for 5K runs. One took place in February during the NBA All-Star Game, and on April 17 the Children's Cancer Research Fund will use Staples Center as the start for its Kids 4 Kids 5K Run/Walk.
