Visitors walk down Fiesta Broadway's main Broadway corridor during the 2009 event.

Cinco de Mayo may have been big in Downtown's bars on Thursday, but the festivities will spill out onto Broadway—albeit in a much less alcoholic form—this Sunday, May 8, as Fiesta Broadway returns for its 22nd year.

Carmen Jara and Diana Reyes headline the KWHY-TV stage at 1st and Broadway, while Mexican Institute of Sound and Ozomatli carry the Red Bull Panamerica stage at 4th Street.

It will be the second year for the festival's new configuration that keeps street closures north of 5th Street. Previous years had seen the festival stretch down Broadway from Temple to Olympic, cutting off all east-west traffic for the day.

There will still be plenty of closures to watch out for. Broadway will be closed from Temple to 5th, with all cross streets closed between Hill and Spring. Additionally, Spring Street will be closed between Temple and 2nd, and 1st Street will be closed from Hill to Main.

Some closures will start as early as noon on Saturday, and all should be cleared by 6am on Monday, May 9. Fiesta Broadway runs Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
