A team competes in the 2009 hose pull contest, which requires the hose be unrolled via an old-fashioned cart, hooked up to the hydrant and nozzle, and used to knock a cone off its pedestal.

The annual Hope for Firefighters fundraiser returns Thursday, bringing firehouse food and games to several blocks of Bunker Hill as a way to raise money for the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund.

It's the 14th outing for the event, which in 2010 raised over $90,000 for the fund.

While the eats are always a star attraction, attendees also get to watch corporate teams compete in the muster games, which require entrants to perform firefighter tasks including an old-fashioned hose pull and bucket brigade.

The event takes place on Hope Street, between 3rd and Hope Place.
