DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Today is Monday, June 13, and a light week at City Hall is headlined by plans for widening the North Spring Street Viaduct, a money request from the Convention Center and a planning update.
MONDAY: Only Budget and Finance committee meets.
The City Administrative Officer is asking for permission to issue $1.3 billion in short-term tax and revenue anticipation notes to pay pension commitments and provide cash for near-term needs. The item goes to committee as CF 11-0770-S1.
TUESDAY: Council meets, as do three committees.
The Environmental Impact Report for a project to widen the North Spring Street Viaduct goes to Council as CF 10-0959. The option recommended by city staff would limit widening to the north side of the bridge, saving the bulk of the historic structure.
The Los Angeles Convention Center says big events like the just-finished E3 will bring in higher-than-expected revenue, but under CF 11-0997 it is asking the city for $370,000 to meet payroll before the bills are paid.
The consulting group taking a look at improvements to the planning process will give an update to the Planning and Land Use Management committee.
WEDNESDAY: Council returns, again with three committees.
Permission for REDCAT to contract a pair of DASH buses for shuttle services during the upcoming 50th Anniversary National Conference of Theater Communications Group goes to Council under CF 11-0991. The two buses would be used at $75 per bus per hour.
