DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Downtown's news coverage will get a case of Royal fever this weekend as Prince William and Catherine visit a Saturday night British film event at the newly-reopened Belasco Theatre and make a mid-day stop on Sunday at Inner City Arts.

Both stops will include a healthy dose of street closures.

On Saturday, streets and sidewalks will be closed around the Belasco for the BAFTA red carpet. According to special event paperwork submitted last month, street closures will include Hill Street between Olympic and 12th, 11th Street between Broadway and Hill and Blackstone Court between Olympic and 11th. Street closures start at 6am, with sidewalks shuttered at noon.

On Sunday, both Kohler Street and Merchant Street will be closed between 7th and 8th to create a security buffer around Inner City Arts' Michael Maltzan-designed campus. Those closures are slated to run from 6am to 2pm.
