A herd of goats grazes on the Angels Knoll hillside on Friday. It is the third time the goats have been brought Downtown to control weeds.

One of Downtown's most peculiar urban sights returned on Wednesday as dozens of hungry goats was unleashed on the weedy Angels Knoll hillside at 4th and Hill.

The herd of approximately 100 goats, first brought Downtown for the job in 2008, are touted by the Community Redevelopment Agency as a cheap and environmentally friendly alternative to loosing a crew with gasoline-powered weed whackers on the site.

The four-legged workforce was brought back in 2009 and 2010.

Want to see the show? Don't wait around. The hillside clearing should only take the goats approximately two days to finish up.
