Meetings to Discuss Post Office Closures This Week

The Arcade Post Office at 5th and Spring is one of five the Postal Service is studying Downtown for potential closure.
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — The fate of five Downtown post offices will be up for discussion in a pair of meetings this week, part of a "retail optimization" effort by the United States Postal Service.
Slated for potential closure are the Bunker Hill Post Office (350 S. Grand), the ARCO Plaza Post Office (505 S. Flower), the Arcade Post Office (506 S. Spring), the Federal Finance Station (300 N. Los Angeles) and the Market Station (1122 E. 7th).
The five are among 3,700 locations that the Postal Service in July said it was studying nationwide.
A meeting to discuss the Bunker Hill and ARCO Plaza locations—the USPS apparently has not noticed that the complex is now City National Plaza—will be held on Thursday, September 29, from noon to 2pm at 350 S. Grand.
The other three stations will be discussed on Friday, September 30, from noon to 2pm at the Terminal Annex Post Office, next to Union Station (900 N. Alameda).

Who is going to be able to attend this meeting at 2 o'clock in the afternoon??? Can't they have evening meetings?

Eric - the people who work at the ARCO post office probably haven't been let out of their post office in over 30 years, they probably don't even know the world's using computers. Since that's the last corner of the basement that hasn't been remodeled. Even if they did get to the mail drop area - it's like stepping back in time...
I know that doesn't read very nicely, but I'm saying it with a "I'm a nice person" tone.
