The rolling block party that is CicLAvia returns to Downtown on Sunday, closing off ten miles of streets to cars and opening them to cyclists, skateboarders, pedestrians and any other means of non-auto transportation.

The third outing keeps the same route used in October and April, cutting through Downtown on 7th, Spring, 1st, Central and 4th. This go adds spurs north on Main Street to El Pueblo and south on 9th and Central to the African American Firefighter Museum (and the wonderfully odd ship-shaped Coca-Cola Bottling Plant) at 14th and Central.

Update (Sunday): The event is underway. Check out live updates and photos from the third CicLAvia in our Sunday story.

Unlike a bike ride or a race, the CicLAvia route has no set start or finish. Attendees are encouraged to enjoy as much or as little of the ribbon of streets as they see fit.

Streets will be closed by 10am, and should reopen between 3 and 5pm.

Full route and event information can be found on the CicLAvia website.
