After seven months serving coffee and teas, Spring Street's CoffeeBar seems to want to become a real bar, or at least a little more of a cafe.

ZA-2011-2547-CUB in an application to add beer and wine sales to an existing cafe at 600 S. Spring (the Planning link above says 610 S. Spring, but the two are the same building). There is a tentative hearing date scheduled for December 14.

While CoffeeBar entered a crowded coffee block on Spring, the alcohol market is just as busy. The 600 block of Spring has the Exchange LA nightclub, bars The Falls and Spring St., and may eventually get another bar in the basement of 650 S. Spring.
