Docents from the Japanese American National Museum will lead a guided tour of Little Tokyo this Saturday as part of their “Lifelong Learning” series.

According to the museum's website, the tour will offer participants the opportunity to “relive history and learn about present-day Little Tokyo.”

Expect an elaborate experience where you’ll be sure to visit Buddhist temples and other historic landmarks while learning about how the area has changed in over 100 years of existence.

The hope of the volunteers putting on the event is to inform the public of Little Tokyo’s history and to promote the preservation of it as well.

“The demographics are changing so much, people who live in Little Tokyo don’t know anything about Little Tokyo,” JANM spokesman Chris Komai said.

Scheduled at two hours, from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., it’s recommended that partakers wear comfortable walking shoes and clothes.

The Little Tokyo Walking Tour is $9 for members and $14 for non-members, which also includes admission into the museum.

The Japanese American National Museum is located at 369 E. First Street.
