Promising to bring back the days when gentlemen’s clubs were for, well, gentlemen, Dejá Vu on Main is set for a classy grand opening celebration in Downtown on March 8.

Manager Russell Boschetto said the grandiose undertaking of the opening is primarily an opportunity to tap into VIPs visiting L.A. Live just over a mile away.

"We want the CEO of the company," Boschetto said.

Despite Boschetto's enthusiasm, not all his neighbors feel the same way. P.O.P. Sign Company is located next to the strip club and manager Angela Cho feels awkward about the location.

"(The club) should be in the right place," Cho said. "I don't feel good about it. I don't think it fits in the area."

She said that a few months ago a customer called, trying to get signatures to stop development of the club but it didn't get very far.

Others aren't as concerned about their new racy neighbor, like supervisor Mario Lopez of the Downtown Community Job Center across the street.

We are too busy trying to find ways to get people jobs than to think about the strip club opening, Lopez said.

"(The club), that’s the least of their worries," Lopez said. “They have other priorities and concerns.”

Cho did note that the club will not interfere with business hours, and that it was a positive to see a new business in the area.

The 10,000 sq. ft., 336 capacity, multi-million dollar project will feature state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems. The stand-out attraction in the main room is the catwalk overhead, which will allow dancers to reach the stage by sliding down a 30’ pole.

"It's unbelievable," Boschetto said. "It connects directly to the dressing room."

The two-level club will also have valet parking and a cigar room. It will be open to guests 18 and older. Hours will be seven days a week from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m.

As of now, there is no dress code, though Boschetto said eventually there will be.

The club costs $25 to enter and dances start at $20. Because the establishment is a full-nude club, no alcohol will be served.

Dejá Vu on Main is located at 1800 S. Main St. at Washington Blvd..
