A Metro Silver Line bus collided with a car along the 700 block of Figueroa Street Monday morning.

Four people were taken to a local hospital for treatment Monday following an early morning collision between two vehicles and a Metro bus in downtown L.A., officials said.

A little before 8:30 a.m., a Metro Silver Line bus going northbound on the 700 block of Figueroa Street hit a car that was moving around the bus to make a right turn, said Metro spokesman Dave Sotero. In the process of getting hit by the bus, the car struck another adjacent vehicle, he said.

The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived on scene shortly after the crash, said LAFD spokesman Erik Scott.

The bus operator and three bus passengers incurred non-life-threatening injuries in the incident and were transported to a local hospital, Sotero said. He said nobody in the vehicles were injured to his knowledge.

Sotero said this type of collision does not happen regularly. While Metro accidents do occur, he said it is rare people have to be taken to the hospital because of injuries.
