Free ice cream for those named Ben or Jerry at the new Union Station shop
The Union Station ice cream shop will be giving out free scoops to anyone who can prove they're named Ben or Jerry.
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — The Ben and Jerry's that opened in Downtown's Union Station this summer is hosting an official grand opening this week, and co-founder Ben Cohen is going to be there in person to help advertise the new shop.
Thursday through Saturday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., visitors lucky enough to be named Ben or Jerry (and you have to prove it with photo ID), will receive a free scoop of ice cream. For the rest of us, the ice cream chain is offering 2-for-1 deals on their Greek yogurt on Friday, and free scoops of ice cream for anyone wearing tie-dye on Saturday.
Cohen will only be there on Thursday but Woody, the companies trademark cow, will be available for photo ops all three days.
