The Silver Lake Jubilee is changing it's name and headed to Downtown L.A. this summer.
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Although the Silver Lake Jubilee began in the Eastside community of the same name, starting this summer the arts and music festival will be moving Downtown to the Arts District.
The Eastsider reports that the party is changing locations because the Jubilee needed to move off of the streets. It previously took place on public streets around Sunset Junction in Silver Lake.
“It’s really hard to shut the street down and build things over night,” Jack Martinez, who heads the Los Angeles Arts and Athletics Alliance that produces the event, told the Eastsider.
This year's event is scheduled for Friday June 7 and Saturday June 8, but few other details about the weekend's schedule have been released. The event will take place on a private property near Santa Fe Avenue and the soon-to-be torn down 6th Street Bridge.
Last year's event took place over Memorial Day weekend and included performances from a wide range of local and up-and-coming artists -- with a few well-known acts sprinkled in.

By changing the location to Downtown alone changes this event from the Silverlake Jubilee. Moving this event to Hoover St. between Hyperion & Santa Monica instead of closing Sunset Blvd. woud work even though it'll be smaller i's still in Silverlake. As long as it's free to attend to te public. Very few shops will be affected during that time since most of the shops are on Sunset Blvd.
