DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Chinatown Summer Nights festival returns to DTLA this summer, coinciding with the neighborhood's 75th anniversary.
It starts on June 15 and will continue for one Saturday a month through July and August. The party begins at 5 p.m. and goes until midnight, and includes DJs, live music, arts and crafts workshops, food trucks and craft beer. There will also be an outdoor beer garden, ping-pong, face painting and "Iron Chef-style cooking competitions."
The Chinatown festival will also take place on July 20 and August 17. The list of participating food trucks, band performances and breweries for these dates have not been released yet.
For Angelenos who want to avoid a parking headache, there will be free shuttles running every 10 minutes between the nearby Metro Gold Line Station and the Chinatown festival.
This will be the fourth annual Chinatown Summer Nights festival. Highlights from last year's festival included a "punk rock pillow fight" and a beer garden curated by local Eagle Rock Brewery.
Chinatown Summer Nights is free to the public and organized by the Chinatown Business Improvement District (BID).
Festival events are focused in and around the West Plaza, Central Plaza and Mandarin Plaza.
