The commercial Heineken sign with mariachis under festive flags has been replaced by a commissioned piece designed to support the beer company's current marketing campaign "give themselves a good name." It's one in a nation wide series that adapts the campaign for the Hispanic market. Called "Demuestra QuiƩn Eres," roughly translating to "show who you are and...

|Photo Gallery| Last Saturday, Grand Performances' evening program was billed as a "tounge-in-cheek dance party" through the diverse Latin American musical cultures found in L.A, but clearly Mr. Vallenato, La Santa Cecilia, and Mentiritas put impassioned commitment to the music before the humor.

Big Lovin' Panda's Anthony Ferrara

Gallery Row Ed Fuentes

While the notices were surprises, the move fits with the growth patterns that have characterized gallery districts around the country. Galleries enter a depressed but interesting neighborhood, help make it a safer and more vibrant place, and then are pushed out once rents rise. — Continued Inside...

Spamalot

"Monty Python's Spamalot" made its Los Angeles debut on July 8th, and opening night encores brought Eric Idle to the stage to take a bow and say the Tony Award-Winning musical is a "Los Angeles play." Reports are that he later recanted at the after-party, held at Downtown's The Standard hotel.
