Daffodil to Rise Next Week

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Sunday I asked what the fate of Downtown’s daffodil air raid siren was to be, now that it has been removed from its former location on the corner of Figueroa and Olympic. It turns out it will soon be standing upright again, this time along Cherry Street, between 11th and Olympic. AEG says that they hope to have the flower/siren up in its new location sometime early next week.
As I mentioned before, the way in which the flower had gingerly been laid on its side made me hopefully that plans had been made for its future. I commend AEG for keeping such an interesting part of LA’s history (both the sirens and this one’s eventual flowerly conversion) alive.
I’d like to thank staff from the CRA for helping me find out about the flower’s future.
