Sidewalk Screenplay Leaves Me Baffled

I am guessing that Holt is the author of the screenplay? Somehow I think that this screenplay may be based on someone’s perception of reality.

If it gets picked up, I’ll go see it.

I think the Gilmore hatchet man is really Trish, Tom Gilmore’s wife.

TRISH-Wife of Tom Gilmore is driving everybody out of the Old Bank District. She is a horrible, bitter, pretentious, heartless, old witch. Her immoralities and unethical way of treating people and business will eventually drive her husband’s interest towards a downward spiral.

Ms. Beech - what specifically does Trish do that makes her a “horrible…old witch”? If you’re going to call people names, you should probably substantiate yor accusations with examples.

20% rent increases, harassment, refusual to renew leases without cause…don’t believe all of your Ray’s and Pete’s cronies…she is a real bitch. You can look at the turnover at the leasing office as your first clue. And Donna, Tom is well aware of how his wife acts, he doesn’t discourage it, does he?

for what it is worth, i lived in the san fernando for almost three years, renewing my lease twice with no increases and no hassles. i was able to get out of the last year of my lease early because someone else wanted to move in right away, and i got my full security deposit back in a timely fashion.

and ray’s a great guy and i love the bread pudding at pete’s, but i don’t have cronies at either place.

the only way that trish bothered me is that she kept calling me sir.

The staff at San Fernando building are always in a bad moods, I know it has to do with that evil witch Trish Keeper who always looks like she has a stick up her *** . This building seemed okay when i first moved in a year and a half ago and now that i see all the new lofts in downtown this place reminds me of an old run down place.. the appliances are the cheapest they could find. The place just has an ungly look and nothing ever gets remodeled. yet they keep hiking up the price of the units. I found a better place where I feel at home. A place with a real person as the landlord and not a cold bitter old hag.

I LOVE TRISH KEEFER AND HER HUSBAND TOM TOO !! As far as I can tell they have done more for the people of downtown than almost anyone…they have opened/ partnered in multiple service businesses, provided eateries, affordable housinhg, paid for on-street security, subsidized events, community projects, and have also partnered in galleries (including my own ) that could otherwise not be in business. Are they tough landlords? Maybe, but not to me. Are they aggressive business people? Of course - and very smart too , as anyone in business needs to be to be succesful. Are they kind people? Regarding the writing on the sidewalk…I suspect it is the homeless guy, Bill, who is incredibly unbalanced and gets “his knickers in a knot” about EVERYTHING. He will plop himself in front of Pete’s, The Hellman, Ray’s store,..etc. (whomever he has a beef with at the time) and say horrible things about the people he hates, draw up signs with “protest” language and yell at people (he also growls at passing dogs, yet will try to give cookies to dogs). He writes on the sidewalks hateful things,usually in chalk, but now in paint. What’s wierd is he also draws eastern philosophy symbols, writes about the “zen” of things, yet he is such a hate-monger. He is incredibly smart and obviously well-educated, knows his rights inside and out and even the police can’t seem to do anything about him. I found if you just ignore him, he eventually goes away and focuses his anger on someone else. So, I think the writings you discovered are from him. Just an “educated guess” on my part.
